Adoption Fees

• $150 - ferrets one year of age and under
• $100 - greater than one year and up to and including 2.5 years of age
• $75 - greater than 2.5 years and up to and including 4 years of age
• $50 - greater than 4 years of age
• $25 - special needs ferrets*

*Special needs ferrets are those with medical conditions, as diagnosed by a qualified veterinarian, that are likely to result in a shortened life span, or ferrets in other unique situations that may make them more difficult to adopt, as determined by the A.F.S.

The A.F.S. maintains a strict adoption process.  This thorough approval process enables matching of both applicant and ferret with the goal of achieving a permanent and successful placement.

All ferrets adopted by the A.F.S. are spayed/neutered, descented and are current on their rabies and distemper vaccinations.  We do our best to determine the age of the ferret and charge accordingly.   

The A.F.S. does not ship ferrets outside of Alberta (they've been through enough already), however, transportation to other areas within Alberta can sometimes be arranged.
