Foster Ferrets

I THINK I CAN DO THIS

If you are reading this it is because you are interested in becoming a foster family for the Alberta Ferret Society. We thank you! Foster homes are always in demand as the amount of ferrets surrendered to our shelter increases yearly. The Alberta Ferret Society does not utilize a free standing shelter. Every ferret that we receive is placed into a foster home with one of our members until a permanent adoptive home is found.

The Alberta Ferret Society:

  • Matches ferret(s) to the experience level of the foster home.
  • Provides necessary supplies (cage, food, litter, etc.).
  • Provides all medical care for the ferret(s).
  • Provides support and answers for all your questions and concerns.

The Foster Family:

  • Provides care and attention to the foster ferret(s).
  • Provides transportation to and from veterinary appointments.
  • Allows access for approved adopters to view the foster ferret.

By choosing to become a foster parent you are helping a ferret whose future may otherwise be uncertain. Here’s your chance to make a difference!

Note: Eligibility to become a foster home is based on a two step application process. Approved foster homes must become members of the Alberta Ferret Society.
