Shelters

WHY ARE FERRET SHELTERS NEEDED?

Homelessness and animal cruelty are epidemic.   Animals of all kinds, ferrets included, are often purchased and then discarded when they become inconvenient.    We have all seen and heard of the in-humane conditions  found in puppy mills and ferret mills are no different.    The animals in these places are being kept in tiny, filthy, unhealthy and uncaring conditions.

Ferrets need our help just as much as any other domestic animal.   That is why ferret shelters need to exist.

Please take a moment and give your attention to the following links and you will understand why ferrets need our help too.

A Tribute to Ferret Shelters was created by Mike Janke.  Please visit his site at Miami Ferret Org.

The Abington 43 & Hagerstown Rescue were made possible by Rocky's Ferret Shelter & Rescue in Baltimore County, Maryland.  For more information about these rescues please visit their web site.

The DM Ferret Rescue Foundation is an ongoing project organized by the Michigan Ferret Rescue & Adoption Network (M-Fran).  This group, with support from the ferret community is attempting to close down and rescue an estimated 1000 or more ferrets from a breeder facility where conditions are reported to be deplorable.
